Ciano d’Enza al castello di Canossa e a Cerredolo dei Coppi.
Lunghezza: 7 chilometri. Dislivello: in salita metri 550, in discesa
metri 110. Tempo di percorrenza: ore 3,30.
Si parte dalla
stazione ferroviaria di Ciano d’Enza. Fino al ’90 questo era anche il
nome del Comune, cambiato poi in Canossa in seguito a un referendum
popolare. Lungo la via Val d’Enza nord, in pochi minuti si scende a
Vico, dove si incontra subito una secentesca casa a torre. Alle spalle
del centro sportivo comunale si origina una strada bianca, che si
inoltra lungo la piccola valle del rio Vico. La si segue a lungo, tra
coltivi, boschetli di roverella e vedute dei castelli di Canossa e
Rossena, ormai vicini, superando sei piccoli guadi subilo dopo il terzo
guado un’evidente mulattiera porta al borgo e al castello di Rossena;
perfettamente conservato, si visita su prenotazione, (tel. 0522/ 92

in stile "matildico" in pietra arenaria).
Quando la strada termina, si imbocca un sentierino dietro un fabbricato
rurale e lo si percorre in sponda sinistra, sempre in fondovalle, fino
al primo incrocio. Una mulattiera sale a destra e prosegue oltre il rio
Vico.
Il "Sentiero Matilde" continua invece sulla sinistra, risalendo a una
stradella sterrata.
Si prosegue sempre in dolce salita tra i campi fino a Riverzana, una
casa a torre in restauro dove ha sede l’azienda agrituristica "Antichi
poderi di Riverzana" (tel. 0522/ 877208,apertura stagionale).
Al castello di Canossa, i cui resti si elevano su un’ aspra rupe di
arenaria bianca tra i calanchi della valle, si accede per una ripida
gradinata. Da qui si gode di un esteso panorama, e si puo visitare anche
un piccolo museo, Da Canossa, l’itinerario rasenta i calanchi e si porta
verso levante, al borgo di Cavandola; costeggia poi, su un’ampia
carrareccia, le pendici del Monte Tesa (bei panorami) fino a Cerredolo
dei Coppi, il cui nome richiama i cerri, qui rigogliosi, e le fornaci
per tegole, (coppi) attive fino alla meta del secolo scorso.
Qui un ostello accanto alla chiesa di San Pellegrino e il primo posto
